Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in the Babylon Village Women’s Club (BVWC)
Scholarship.
This scholarship was established to assist women returning to school with their
educational expenses. Our mission
is to
help women achieve a higher level of education enabling them to become more
self-sufficient.
To be eligible for consideration as a candidate for the BVWC Scholarship, you
must:
1) Be a non-traditional female student (i.e., a student returning to school, not
attending directly from high school); and
2) Be eligible for membership in the BVWC. Candidates eligible to join the BVWC
are woman who either:
1) reside in Babylon Village; 2) work in Babylon Village or 3) pay Babylon
Village taxes; and
3) Have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
4) Priority will be given to those applicants who have not received any previous
educational degrees or certificates/licenses
and who have not had continuous schooling.
5) Current BVWC Scholarship Committee members are not eligible for a scholarship
while serving on this committee
nor may they apply within the same calendar year their service ends.
If you meet these requirements, we invite you to:
1. Complete an application form;
2. Obtain one letter of reference from a relative or acquaintance stating why
he/she believes you would be a good candidate
for this scholarship; and
3. Return both the completed application form and the reference letter in a
business size envelope so that they are received
